Marcos Moran is a re­now­ned Spa­nish chef who owns sen­si­ti­ve me­nus and an un­de­nia­ble pas­sion for As­tu­rias, his ho­me­land. He’s al­so tou­ched by cui­si­ne and the warmth of a fa­mily that for over a cen­tury has li­ved for the Ca­sa Ge­rar­do restaurant near Gi­jon.

Jour­na­lism nearly enth­ra­lled him, but he tur­ned back to the sto­ves his an­ces­tors lit up. His trai­ning ran­ges from tra­di­tio­nal His­pa­nic food to stints in dif­fe­rent Spa­nish restaurants that even­tually clim­bed to the top of the fi­nest in the world, such as El Bu­lli, El Ce­ller de Can Ro­ca, among ot­hers. He lear­ned from the very best and was lucky to ha­ve them clo­se at hand.

Fo­llo­wing a long jour­ney to­ward mas­tery and know­led­ge, he came back ho­me to put his lear­ning in­to his re­ci­pes and stand up for the Michelin Star both his fat­her and grand­fat­her won back in 1987.
