At the eas­tern country, nyotaimori (ዪయ┒ࡾ) is the prac­ti­ce of ea­ting sus­hi, the exquisite Ja­pa­ne­se dish, di­rectly over the fe­ma­le body, whi­le nan­tai­mo­ri (⏨య┒ࡾ) is the equi­va­lent with men.

Pre­viously trai­ned to re­main ho­ri­zon­tal for hours, the per­son must ta­ke a bath with scentless soap and cold wa­ter, which not only gua­ran­tees hy­gie­ne but the tem­pe­ra­tu­re of food — nearly cold or fresh— coin­ci­des with the de­pi­la­ted body. Sho­wing pu­bic hair has ero­tic con­no­ta­tions in Ja­pan, alt­hough you could won­der: isn’t this sort of “si­to-phi­lic” per­for­man­ce (fe­tis­hism in which peo­ple get se­xual plea­su­re from si­tua­tions whe­re food is in­vol­ved) the sa­me?
