When people meet him, they are amazed by his simplicity and modesty. Despite owning the only two-Michelin-star restaurant in Mallorca, Zaranda, Chef Fernando Perez Arellano does not describe himself as an artist, and he actually is, but as an artisan of stoves.
“Any cook that has received a Michelin star is characterized by important creative and artistic talents, but there is a long way up to be defined as an artist, because that comes to the world with you. I would rather define myself as an artisan; it makes me prouder to think of myself in that way”.
