In 2018, Sao Pau­lo will be hol­ding the Ibe­rian Ame­ri­can Ca­pi­tal of Gas­tro­no­mic Cul­tu­re dis­tin­ction, which will be la­ter gi­ven to Mia­mi, in 2019, and Ma­drid, in 2020.

Other titles ha­ve been crea­ted in a bid to pre­se­ve the Ibe­rian Ame­ri­can gas­tro­no­mic he­ri­ta­ge: Ca­pi­tal of the Ca­rib­bean Gas­tro­no­mic Cul­tu­re (pre­sently held by San­to Do­min­go) and the re­cently­laun­ched Ibe­rian Ame­ri­can Cock­tail Ca­pi­tal (gi­ven to Ha­va­na this year).
