Now that the UVS are done, it is time to tex­ture the crea­ture. I usu­ally start with the flat tints: a

con­trast be­tween lights and darks. I then start to paint with the Stan­dard brush in RGB, while us­ing the photo ref­er­ences as guides.

If you’re only mak­ing a con­cept, you can keep on tex­tur­ing in Zbrush, if not, I’d ad­vise you move on to us­ing Mari or Mud­box.
