BRAMWELL CUP BUSH CARNIVAL AND RACES (QLD)
Bramwell Station, Cape York, is welcoming neighbours and visitors from July 1-3 for some old-style horse races. HENRY LAWSON FESTIVAL (NSW)
Henry Lawson, one of Australia’s most famous poets, was born on Grenfell’s goldfields in 1867. To commemorate his birth and his contribution to the arts, Grenfell will host the annual Henry Lawson Festival from June 9-13. Entries are received nationally for verse, short stories, painting and photography, and performers travel vast distances to participate in the festival year after year. STEAM RALLY ECHUCA (VIC)

FINKE DESERT RACE (NT)
Australia’s greatest desert race is on again. Held each year during the Queen’s Birthday long weekend, the Tatts Finke Desert Race is an off-road, multi-terrain, two-day race for bikes, cars, buggies and quads through desert country from Alice Springs to the small Aputula (Finke) community. It has the reputation of being one of the most difficult offroad courses in one of the most remote places in the world, and it’s the most fun you can have with a helmet on! BIG RED BASH (QLD)
Australia’s magnificent outback desert sand dune, ‘Big Red’ near Birdsville on the edge of the Simpson Desert, will play host to some of Australia’s most recognised music legends including Jimmy Barnes and Paul Kelly. AUSTRALIAN KELPIE MUSTER (VIC)
A huge crowd is expected to descend on Casterton,victoria, on June 11-12 to celebrate the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Australian Kelpie Muster. On the Saturday there will be the Kelpie Festival, which hosts a range of events including the Kelpie Triathlon – consisting of the Kelpie High Jump (you won’t believe how high they jump), the Kelpie Dash and the Kelpie Hill Climb. Other popular events are the Kelpie Street Parade, Kelpie Pinball and the novelty events, just to name a few. There are street stalls and local produce and merchandise available. THE ESSENCE OF ARDI (WA)
The Essence of Ardi showcases the culture of the Dampier Peninsula, north-east of Broome. Sample the best of the coast and country at this amazing event hosted by the friendly Lombadina Community. There will be locally made art, jewellery and traditional artefacts from all over the Dampier Peninsula, while local culinary identities will be preparing traditional foods from the area.
