THE FJ was upgraded a few times during its five years on the local market, starting with the addition of satellite navigation in early 2012. Then in March 2013, with the addition of a second tank of 87 litres, fuel capacity was more than doubled from 72 litres to 159 litres. This was a welcome addition and greatly enhanced the FJ Cruiser’s remote-area functionality. At the same time the FJ also gained ‘Crawl Control’, a far less significant addition. Later, in 2013, the design of the 17-inch alloys was changed.
During its time in Australia the FJ Cruiser has been offered in 13 different colours, ranging from bright yellows, reds and blues to neutral tones, greys and even black.
