WHEN the Pajero Sport was launched late last year, one criticism was that it was available as a five-seater only – in a market where having seven seats is a big selling advantage.

Mitsubishi has now corrected the situation, offering seven seats as standard in Pajero Sport GLS and Exceed; the GLX will remain as a five-seat model. The Pajero Sport’s 50-50 split third-row seats fold forward when not required and present a flat cargo floor stowage area. Access to the third row seats is via a fold-andtumble function on the 60-40 split second-row seat.

The seven-seater Pajero Sport GLS and Exceed have side curtain airbags covering all three rows of seats, and ceiling-mounted vents for second and third row passengers are now included on all models – GLX, GLS and Exceed. Behind the third row seats there’s a shallow cargo tray under the floor.
