This year 2017 marks the 10th anniversary of transport fabric company Camira’s acquisition of John Holdsworth & Co, the famous 200 year old English textile company.
John Holdsworth & Co was and remains a world recognised moquette manufacturer supplying fabric for all types of passenger vehicles. In the space of 10 years, Camira has doubled its turnover, now selling eight million metres of fabric a year to 70 countries; expanded from 260 to over 700 employees; increased from two to ve manufacturing sites in West Yorkshire; opened a manufacturing facility in Lithuania as well as warehousing and showrooms in China and USA.
In Australasia there have been improvements in quality and service and an increased range of products, while preserving the values and traditions of the long-term relationships synonymous with the Holdsworth name.
Our capability starts with the yarn itself, from wool spinning and polypropylene yarn manufacture, through to yarn dyeing, weaving and textile nishing.
We control our own supply chain to ensure continuity of supply for our customers worldwide. We make approximately eight million metres of fabric a year meeting international ammability regulations, celebrating colour, design and technical and environmental innovation.
Recent ranges introduced to the Camira portfolio include Fusion, which is a lightweight moquette comprising a variety of modern designs. This range offers a mixed palette of subtle trend colours and traditional brights.
Another is Vision – an innovative at woven fabric that gives coaches a stylish and modern look, especially when combined with leather.
In Australia, Camira’s commitment to the transport industry is demonstrated by personal advice and support assisting manufacturers and operators with their interior design choices. This support is backed by the ready availability of fabric supply from our Melbourne warehouse and weekly air deliveries from England.
