The whale statue in Hervey Bay, Queensland.

We came across this photo of a striking whale statue made from timber erected in a Queensland town known for its whale watching. We asked our audience whether they would like to see something similar in Albany.

I love it and think it would look great in the town square. Christine Bevan

Get the local guy to make one, he is a brilliant wood sculptor. Dennis Ward

Don't need sculptures to bring people, just better roads and better parking for the travellers' vehicles. Val Whiting

Yes. Along with painting the silos at the port with artwork. It would improve the look of the area. Brenda McInnes

Amazing sculpture. Love to have something similar probably near the AEC. Kevin McCreton

Albany has incredible natural beauty which the authorities are determined to keep blocking from view with man-made objects. No, Albany does not need a whale sculpture! A very silly idea. Colleen Donovan

Can we please make it a motorised pod of baby pygmy whales and you can pay a couple of dollars to get on and ride them? Callum Dowell

I think we need to fix our roads first. A lot of roads need repairing around town and we have a lot of gravel roads that need bitumen. Tony Demarteau
