A long-serving pharmacy assistant at Chester Pass TerryWhite Chemmart has been recognised for her commitment to the health and wellbeing of customers along with her significant contribution to her team.

Janine Nicholson was presented with the inaugural team member of the year award, outshining staff from across TerryWhite Chemmart’s 500 Australian pharmacies.

Ms Nicholson has worked at TerryWhite Chemmart Chester Pass for the past 18 years and said the win was a great honour.

“I feel very humbled by the recognition and it is a privilege to be named as TerryWhite Chemmart’s team member of the year when there are so many wonderful and deserving people across the network,” she said. “I love my job and I love caring for people — I always have. I couldn’t think of doing anything else.”

Ms Nicholson was nominated for the award by TerryWhite Chemmart Chester Pass pharmacy owner Brad Smithson.

“When the applications came out, I immediately thought of Janine because of the great work she does for the team and with customers,” Mr Smithson said.

“Anyone who has stepped into our pharmacy will know Janine and her commitment to go above and beyond. She always comes to work with a smile and nothing is ever too much trouble.”

As part of the award, Ms Nicholson has been presented with a trophy and a cash prize of $2000, which she plans to put towards a well-deserved holiday.
