Ar­son squad probes fire

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a sus­pi­cious house fire in Orana that hap­pened on the early hours of Tues­day morn­ing.

Fire crews re­ceived a phone call at 1.30am on Tues­day to at­tend the fire on Can­ning Street.

Three fire crews at­tended the scene and man­aged to ex­tin­guish the fire by 2.15am.

Po­lice said no one was home at the time of the fire.

The dam­age bill is es­ti­mated at $100,000.

De­tec­tive Sergeant Kris McDon­ald said po­lice were look­ing into all lines of in­quiry and had spo­ken to peo­ple who had as­sisted with the in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

WA Po­lice’s ar­son squad also at­tended the crime scene to con­duct more foren­sic in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
