Slat­tery key to Roos’ for­ward line against Ja­pan

South Stir­ling-bred striker Kathryn Slat­tery will re­join her team­mates this week as the Hock­ey­roos take on Ja­pan in a three-Test se­ries in Ade­laide, which starts to­mor­row.

Af­ter be­ing left out of the Hock­ey­roos squad that played in the re­cent In­ter­na­tional Fes­ti­val Of Hockey against the Nether­lands, the USA and Ja­pan, Slat­tery has linked up with the na­tional women’s side ahead of the se­ries against Ja­pan.

The tal­ented 24-year-old will be a key part of the Hock­ey­roos for­ward line as they tackle Ja­pan, start­ing to­mor­row night and fin­ish­ing on Sat­ur­day.

Slat­tery has made 77 ap­pear­ances for the Hock­ey­roos and scored 29 goals since mak­ing her de­but in 2014.

A mem­ber of their Olympic Games squad in Rio last year, Slat­tery is now one of the ex­pe­ri­enced mem­bers of the na­tional team as they look to re­build to­wards the 2018 World Cup un­der new head coach Paul Gau­doin.
