Roller derby wipe­out

Satur­day night was the Al­bany v Mar­garet River roller derby bout, and the Great South­ern Breakers put up a tough fight against the Caber­net Sav­ages.

The bout took place at the Al­bany Leisure and Aquatic Cen­tre, and play­ers showed a team could come a long way from its foun­da­tion a year ago.

The Great South­ern Breakers lost the match 117-144.

The fast full-con­tact sport proved en­ter­tain­ing to the big crowd of sup­port­ers, with prizes on the night for best dressed and best sign.
