Albany’s Peter Muller has been selected as captain of the State over-75 men’s team to compete at the Australian Open Veterans Table Tennis Championships to be held in Mandurah starting tomorrow.

Meanwhile, former Albany resident Mia Zou took out six events in a dominant display at the WA State Open Table Tennis Championships in Perth last month.

Now living in Perth, where she is studying at university, Zou claimed the under-18 girls’ singles and doubles titles, also winning the under-21 ladies’ singles and doubles.

The 18-year-old then went on to take out the open ladies’ singles and doubles before coming up short in the semifinal in the open mixed doubles.

It is believed to be the biggest haul in WA table tennis history.

Zou helped WA win gold at the 2017 Australian National Junior Table Tennis Championships in Tasmania in July.
