WHAT WE’LL ASK

Albany Extra - - Retirees' Voice -

Although you may not have thought much about it, what does the ‘ideal’ retirement look like for you?

If you haven’t stopped work, at what age do you plan to or reasonably expect to retire? The current male life expectancy at birth is 80.4 years and for females it is 84.5. Realistically, what do you think about your own life expectancy relative to these figures?

If you were given $50,000 today, would you spend it now if you knew you would run out of savings at age 80?

How well do you feel you understand what an annuity can offer you in retirement?

In today’s dollars, how much income do you think you will need per annum post tax to maintain your desired lifestyle in retirement? Do you know how much the Government Age Pension is per fortnight?

Do you personally contribute to your super fund?

What would give you more confidence about your retirement preparation apart from just having more money?

Please specify what you have enjoyed most in retirement.

Generally speaking, to what extent should children be responsible for caring for their parents in old age?

Do you and/or your partner currently have a will?

Do you intend to set up a self-managed fund? Have you ever received financial advice from a financial planner?
