Albany Extra - - Extra News -

A 46-year-old Narrogin man died after he lost control of his ute and rolled down an embankment in Nyabing last Saturday morning.

Major Crash detectives were investigating the fatality, which brings WA’s 2017 road toll so far to 123 deaths — including 69 on country roads.

Police said the man was driving a Ford Falcon ute west on Nyabing-Pingrup Road, which becomes Richmond Street in the Nyabing town site.

As he entered the 50km/h zone for the town, the driver failed to negotiate a left-hand bend, veered off the road and rolled down an embankment. A passerby discovered the vehicle about 12.35am and called emergency services.

CPR was performed until St John Ambulance paramedics arrived, but the man — a Nyabing local — died at the scene.
