We have picked out some of the must-see and must-do events at this year’s Albany Agricultural Show.
1. New venue
The Centennial Stadium and agriculture pavilions are a stunning addition to Albany and will bring a new atmosphere to this year’s event.
2. Animals and competitions
The animals will be headlined by the largest alpaca competition in WA — this section is always a hit with revellers of all ages.
3. Sheep dog trials
Will be held on Centennial Stadium — with the venue to make for an ideal place to view the trials.
The sky above Albany will be lit up on Friday night for a fireworks spectacular. A must-see!
5. Sideshow alley
Showbags and rides will be set up near Lockyer Avenue.
6. Cooking demos
Denmark local and celebrity chef Anna Gare will run a number of demonstrations, which will get the crowd’s tastebuds flowing.
7. Town ‘N’ Country ute muster
Judging starts Saturday morning with trophy presentations at 2pm followed by a whip-cracking competition.
Great Southern photographers have submitted a range of works for competition categories that include landscape, seascape, wildflower study, action, portrait and animal.
