Walpole author Sarah Drummond and her debut novel The Sound are in the running to win the International Dublin Literary Award.
She is one of nine Australian authors in the 137 writers worldwide to be short-listed after nominations.
The Sound is a historical fiction work based on the true story of two sealing crews in WA in 1825.
The prize of €100,000 is the world’s most valuable annual literary prize for a single work of fiction in English.
Drummond was nominated by the State Library of Western Australia.
Sarah Drummond has been short-listed for the International Dublin Literary Award.
