Mt Baw Baw Alpine Power of 10
NOT everyone skis, so at Mt Baw Baw this season there will be 10 daily activities on offer for both children and adults that can be enjoyed ski free.
A taste of some of the new and exciting activities are listed below:
Frosty Flicks - weekly open air cinema in the Marketplace featuring short movies with hot beverages and themed food.
Light & Sound laser shows - fresh snow glistens under laser lights during the evenings, creating a unique atmosphere and alpine experience.
Photography hikes - slip on a pair of snowshoes and snap a few shots of stunning snow gum forests, abundant wildlife while enjoying the peace and quiet of freshly fallen snow.
Snowshoe to the summit - snowshoe with no skiing skills required, if you can walk, you can snow shoe.
Where is Frosty the Frog? Children will enjoy themed educational environmental walks where a guide will encourage exploration of the alpine environment.
Snow sculpting - get creative and learn how to snow sculpt in a fun and relaxed environment.
Snow biking - with professional mountain biking instructors resident on the mountain the perfect opportunity exists to try an adrenaline filled activity under the guidance of the excellent instructors.
Further enhancing the experience of guests to the mountain in 2015, visitors to the alpine village will be welcomed immediately upon arrival, at the village gates with access to guest services and ski hire.
The integration of the guest information centre and ski hire will ensure seamless service with visitors on the slopes quicker and more comfortable than ever.
Baw Baw is also keeping children happy with the launch of a new snow play park located right in the heart of the village.
The park will encourage snow play activity with equipment including igloos, ice sculptures and frozen themed activities.
Frosty the Frog, Mt Baw Baw’s mascots will lead the fun on weekends as he skidoos through the Village, occasionally with the howling huskys sled dog team providing families with memorable photo opportunities.
Baw Baw is also happy to announce that the ‘howling huskys sled dog’ team will be on the mountain every day of the 2015 winter season.
Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the backcountry trails of Mt Baw Baw by dog sled.
Visitors can experience the thrill of a dog sled ride with the pulling power of eight highly trained dogs and their musher, while children will be enchanted by the experience of a snow shoe tour with experienced husky leaders.
MUSH: The howling huskys sled dog team will be onsite at Mt Baw Baw for the entire 2015 winter allowing guests the opportunity to go on a sled dog tour.
