Farm­ing schol­ar­ships

FARM­ERS un­der the age of 35 are be­ing en­cour­aged to ap­ply for this year’s Young Farm­ers Schol­ar­ship Pro­gram.

The pro­gram pro­vides young farm­ers and oth­ers who work di­rectly on farm with an op­por­tu­nity to in­vest in their ca­reer and them­selves by boost­ing their skills and be­com­ing equipped for the farm­ing chal­lenges of the fu­ture.

It of­fers farm­ers and farm work­ers aged 35 years or un­der with up to $10,000 to help them with ca­reer pro­gres­sion and pro­fes­sional devel­op­ment.

The fund­ing con­sists of up to $5000 for study with a fur­ther $5000 to in­vest on-farm or in pro­fes­sional devel­op­ment ac­tiv­i­ties to help put new skills into prac­tice.

El­i­gi­ble cour­ses in­clude, Di­ploma in Agri­cul­ture, hu­man re­sources train­ing, busi­ness man­age­ment cour­ses, Di­ploma of Agribusi­ness Man­age­ment and a range of on-farm tech­ni­cal train­ing.
