Mudge­gonga Hall re­news its team

THE Mudge­gonga Hall Com­mit­tee has an­nounced its new lead­er­ship team to man­age the val­ley’s mod­ern com­mu­nity hub.

The Com­mit­tee, elected un­der the guid­ance of Alpine Shire coun­cil­lor John Forsythe, is: chair - Co­ral Love, sec­re­tary - Julie Carter, trea­surer - Henry Brewer and mem­bers Neil Hodge, Terry Karis, Mandy Shep­herd, Debbi Rigoni, Rose McIl­roy and An­nette Maloy.

The team will build on the suc­cesses of the out­go­ing com­mit­tees three year term.

New Chair Co­ral Love thanked her pre­de­ces­sor Henry Brewer and com­mit­tee mem­bers for their ser­vice to the com­mu­nity.

Ma­jor projects in­cluded a power up­grade and the in­stal­la­tion of heat­ing/cool­ing units.

A wood and glass-fronted cabi­net was com­mis­sioned to dis­play Mudge­gonga’s com­mu­nity quilt and the re­cent din­ner dance was an out­stand­ing suc­cess.

Les Brown stepped down from the com­mit­tee af­ter al­most 30 years of ser­vice.

Les held the role of pres­i­dent for 12 years and he co­or­di­nated both a ma­jor hall up­grade in 1998 and the com­ple­tion of a new car park in 2011 and was duly thanked him for his sig­nif­i­cant con­tri­bu­tions.

Ap­pre­ci­a­tion was also passed on to out­go­ing mem­bers - An­drew Mil­ford for six years of ser­vice and sec­re­tar­ial role and Tr­ish Hodge, who left in 2016, for eight years of ser­vice and sec­re­tar­ial and trea­surer sup­port.

The Mudge­gonga Hall is com­plete with mod­ern air-con­di­tion­ing, heat­ing and a com­mer­cial kitchen and is avail­able for hire.
