Bright beer bubbles in marriage equality cause
BRIGHT Brewery has helped a Brisbane brewer to craft a fresh beer in aid of the Australian Marriage Equality organisation’s ‘Yes’ campaign.
The local craft brewery last week joined The Good Beer Co – Australia’s only social enterprise brewery – to launch ‘Love²’.
Proceeds from sales of the new brew will support AME’s continuing campaign in its attempt to win majority support for samesex marriage during the current national marriage law postal survey and, afterwards, support equality for LGBTI communities in Australia.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics is encouraging all voters in the country to mail completed survey forms by October 27 to ensure that responses are counted in the federal government’s noncompulsory, non-binding survey.
The results are to be published on November 15.
Bright Brewery’s Scott Bran- don said his enterprise was proud to be brewing Love² for The Good Beer Co and “adding our support to this important campaign for equality”.
“Appropriately, Love ² is a refreshing pale ale with a little bit of sweet malts that make this beer very easy to love,” Mr Brandon said.
“We love brewing it, we love drinking it and we love sharing it with everyone, no matter what their preferences. “
The Good Beer Co founder James Grugeon said he wanted people to drink responsibly and vote responsibly.
“We hope that once Australia votes to support marriage equality there’ll be plenty of newly-weds washing down their marriage vows with a Love ² beer,” he said.
More than 30 groups, including brewers, pubs, bars, venues and craft beer media, supported last week’s launch of the beer.
