A musical bookshop
MELBOURNE musician ‘Bill’ will perform at the Bright Bookshop on Sunday.
The Bookshop Tour is a unique 15-date tour of regional Victoria that will see the Melbourne-based folk singer-songwriter perform in some of the states most beautiful and quirky independent bookshops.
As a number of towns lack suitable venues for the performance and enjoyment of contemporary original music, bookshops presented themselves as the perfect pop-up venue for an all-ages intimate show.
Bill released his debut album ‘Forklifts, Girls & Time Alone’ earlier this year and will have copies available at all stops.
The young songwriter is as unadorned as his name, a purveyor of honesty and substance.
His live performances straddle amusement and heartbreak with a fine art, drawing influence from artists like Neil Young and Leonard Cohen.
Audiences on The Bookshop Tour can expect a truly engaging and memorable performance.
The tour is presented by Creative Victoria and will take place on weekends throughout November.
As well was Bright, Bill’s tour will stop at Horsham, Hamilton, Port Fairy, Warrnambool, Beechworth, Bendigo, Echuca, Albury, Kyneton, Castlemaine, Traralgon, Queenscliff and Melbourne.
