Home game for Savoys
REIGNING AWFA premiers Myrtleford will host the Westside Strikers in the first qualifying round of the nation-wide FFA Cup.
The Savoy will host the Caroline Springs based club at 3pm on Saturday, February 17 at Savoy Park with a reserves practice match to proceed at 1pm.
Myrtleford have successfully made their way through the qualifying rounds in each of their two previous FFA Cup campaigns before being bundled out in the third and first rounds in the Victorian side of the draw.
A missed penalty late in the game denied the Savoys an equaliser in a 1-0 loss to Ringwood City last season.
Myrtleford have already played two practice matches this season with encouraging performances against the Goulburn Valley Suns and NPL powerhouse South Melbourne.
Interestingly, South Melbourne’s most recent practice match was against Chinese Super League team Guangzhou R&F.
