REIGN­ING AWFA pre­miers Myrtle­ford will host the West­side Strik­ers in the first qual­i­fy­ing round of the na­tion-wide FFA Cup.

The Savoy will host the Caro­line Springs based club at 3pm on Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 17 at Savoy Park with a re­serves prac­tice match to pro­ceed at 1pm.

Myrtle­ford have suc­cess­fully made their way through the qual­i­fy­ing rounds in each of their two pre­vi­ous FFA Cup cam­paigns be­fore be­ing bun­dled out in the third and first rounds in the Vic­to­rian side of the draw.

A missed penalty late in the game de­nied the Savoys an equaliser in a 1-0 loss to Ring­wood City last sea­son.

Myrtle­ford have al­ready played two prac­tice matches this sea­son with en­cour­ag­ing per­for­mances against the Goul­burn Val­ley Suns and NPL pow­er­house South Mel­bourne.

In­ter­est­ingly, South Mel­bourne’s most re­cent prac­tice match was against Chi­nese Su­per League team Guangzhou R&F.
