Spring ex­hi­bi­tion to be­gin

THE Bright Art Gallery’s an­nual spring ex­hi­bi­tion will be­gin next Satur­day and run through un­til Novem­ber 5.

The gallery will be open five days a week – Thurs­day through to Mon­day from 10am to 4pm, show­cas­ing a range of art.

The main gallery will host the works of well-known lo­cal artist Ro­mana Zorzut-Favier.

On dis­play and all for sale will be many of Ro­mana’s ear­lier works up to paint­ings com- pleted more re­cently.

The Enid West gallery will be ded­i­cated to pho­to­graph, fea­tur­ing shots by tal­ented lo­cals pho­tog­ra­phers as well as en­tries and com­pe­ti­tion win­ners from the Bright Fes­ti­val of Pho­tog­ra­phy which takes place Oc­to­ber 5-7.

As well as ex­hi­bi­tions the venue also hosts a num­ber of work­shops through­out the year with the up­com­ing one to be a two-day work­shop with noted artist Cather­ine Hamil­ton.

Hamil­ton judged the Au­tumn Art Show and is a highly re­garded artist and tu­tor.

She was born in Sur­rey, Eng­land and stud­ied fine art and print mak­ing at The Ep­som School of Art in Sur­rey and life draw­ing at The Chelsea School of Art in Lon­don.

The two-day acrylic fun­da­men­tals work­shop she will take this Satur­day and Sun­day is de­signed to suit artists of all abili- ties, in­clud­ing begin­ners.

Day one in­cludes learn­ing the es­sen­tials of colour the­ory and mix­ing/paint­ing with a limited pal­ette while on the sec­ond day Hamil­ton will pro­vide a brief demon­stra­tion, be­fore as­sist­ing par­tic­i­pants with their own paint­ings.
