Spring exhibition to begin
THE Bright Art Gallery’s annual spring exhibition will begin next Saturday and run through until November 5.
The gallery will be open five days a week – Thursday through to Monday from 10am to 4pm, showcasing a range of art.
The main gallery will host the works of well-known local artist Romana Zorzut-Favier.
On display and all for sale will be many of Romana’s earlier works up to paintings com- pleted more recently.
The Enid West gallery will be dedicated to photograph, featuring shots by talented locals photographers as well as entries and competition winners from the Bright Festival of Photography which takes place October 5-7.
As well as exhibitions the venue also hosts a number of workshops throughout the year with the upcoming one to be a two-day workshop with noted artist Catherine Hamilton.
Hamilton judged the Autumn Art Show and is a highly regarded artist and tutor.
She was born in Surrey, England and studied fine art and print making at The Epsom School of Art in Surrey and life drawing at The Chelsea School of Art in London.
The two-day acrylic fundamentals workshop she will take this Saturday and Sunday is designed to suit artists of all abili- ties, including beginners.
Day one includes learning the essentials of colour theory and mixing/painting with a limited palette while on the second day Hamilton will provide a brief demonstration, before assisting participants with their own paintings.
