What do you do?
I’m the manager of the Porepunkah Pub. I have been in hospitality all my working life, since I was 16 years old. I have a real passion for the industry and I really enjoy interacting with people and helping make their experience a great one. I especially enjoy my job when I have been able to exceed customer expectations. I didn’t really set out to work in the hospitality industry, it just happened. I was looking for a casual job when I was 16 and once I started in the industry, it all seemed to work and feel right, so I continued! Working in this industry has provided me with some great experiences, taken me to many interesting places, and I have met a lot of amazing people, too.
What makes a good publican?
I believe a good publican is a person who has a passion for what they do, a great sense of humour and a genuine interest in providing customers with a great experience and a good time.
Where are you from?
I am originally from Victoria, and took some time out to travel around Australia with my husband and we ended up in Margaret River, Western Australia - where we lived for 16 years. As all of our family are on the east coast, we recently decided to move back closer to them. When I was a child I would spend Christmas holidays here in Porepunkah with my family, so I am quite familiar with the region. Once we decided to move closer to family, we started coming to this area and we really loved it, so here we are! Our plan now is to get settled and enjoy this magnificent place!
What are your other interests?
I have a real passion for classic cars and animals. I love the supercars, and also enjoy cricket and football. I enjoy being outside, spending time with family and friends and enjoying good food & wine.
