Microsoft recently announced that the subscriptions to the company’s productivity suite had reached nearly 25 million. But according to the numbers crunched in the four years since the launch of Office 365, new subscribers were hard to find in 2016, having dropped by 62% in comparison with the previous year. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that the Microsoft suite attracted only 4.3 million new subscribers in 2016 (compared to 11.4 million in 2015), but revenue from the consumer-related Office products had increased by 22%.
