Google does $1.25B deal with HTC for smartphone staff and tech

After months of speculations and rumours that HTC will be bought out, Google and the phone manufacturer have finally announced that the internet giant has acquired part of the HTC business, including some HTC employees, “many of whom are already working with Google to develop Pixel smartphones”. The acquisition also includes a nonexclusive licence of HTC intellectual property, allowing the Taiwanese company to continue manufacturing its own products. SS
