Gadgets: HyperX Ducky One 2 Mini

Maximum minimalism.

You may be surprised to learn that 60%-size mechanical keyboards are a huge cult hit. Fans proudly show off their creations made with custom keycaps and chassis’, and the biggest supplier of components is Taiwanese company Ducky. Now, the company has teamed with HyperX to produce this, and it’s quite lovely. The black keys are offset by red esc and return keys; it’s a conservative styling, but it does look fantastic, and because this is HyperX it also has an RGB ring around the egde if you want more... presence. Being 60%, you don’t get a numpad. Nor dedicated arrow keys – though you can still point using a fn combo. The key mechanism is HyperX’s own, and they feel most like soft Cherry Red switches.
