Gold Coast City Gallery 9 Septem­ber to 5 Novem­ber, 2017 Queens­land

South Strad­broke Is­land was the set­ting for an Indige­nous artist camp men­tored by Judy Wat­son fo­cused on shar­ing strong con­nec­tions to coun­try and ex­plor­ing new skills. ‘Cross-Cur­rents’ dis­plays work this unique jour­ney in­spired with many artists ex­pand­ing their ‘go-to’ ap­proaches with fish­nets, ochre, new sym­bols, shap­ing branches or in­vent­ing forms which re­fract the na­tive land­scape; new works from Claire Agale, Glenn Barry, Glen­nys Briggs, Libby Har­ward, Ali­cia Jones, Kiana Larkins, Bryce Mo­ran, Lisa Sor­bie Mar­tin, Ja­son Mur­phy, Dy­lan Sarra and Neville Tor­risheba.
