‘Colouring Impermanence’ occupies two inter-connected yet distinct spaces reflecting different periods in artist David Thomas’ career comprising 100 works from early figurative and abstract drawings to recent large-scale monochrome paintings and an immersive installation piece alongside works by peers, as well as collaborative projects.

These works highlight the value of painting and idea of empathetic viewing; “The works enable the viewer to understand the movement of meaning over time and to contemplate the transitory, unstable nature of being and perceiving”, says Thomas.
