Officer assault case delayed
The sentencing of a Margaret River man charged with assaulting a police officer was delayed on Monday for a pre-sentencing report.
The Margaret River Magistrate’s Court was told a report ordered for Michael John Anderson was not ready because of officer illness.
In November, Anderson pleaded guilty to charges stemming from an August 20 incident at the Mar- garet River Hotel which included assaulting a police officer, disorderly behaviour in public, failing to comply with police orders, breaching a violence restraining order, remaining on licensed premises, and driving contrary to the conditions of an extraordinary driver’s licence on October 8.
Anderson is serving a suspended imprisonment order and may be jailed at his next appearance.
The matter was adjourned until February 20.
