Two charged over break-in

Mar­garet River po­lice charged two peo­ple from Bus­sel­ton with ag­gra­vated bur­glary ear­lier this week af­ter they al­legedly broke into a busi­ness and made off with the safe and about $1300 in cash.

In the early hours of Sun­day, po­lice stopped and searched a ve­hi­cle at Ro­tary Park in Mar­garet River.

They al­lege three men broke into Tyre­power on Bur­ton Road about 12.30am and took off with a float of $300 and a safe, which con­tained about $1000.

Of­fi­cer-in-charge Sergeant Brett Cas­sidy said a 23-year-old man was ap­pre­hended on the night and two oth­ers ran away.

A ju­ve­nile was later charged with ag­gra­vated bur­glary and po­lice are on the look­out for the other per­son they be­lieve was in­volved.

The two ac­cused will ap­pear in Mar­garet River Mag­is­trate’s Court next week.
