Augusta Margaret River Times - - Time Out Social Scene - Chloe Fraser

About 100 guests gathered at Cullen Wines last Saturday night for the black-tie presentation dinner of the Cullen Award for Excellence.

The award, which recognises the outstanding effort made by an individual, group or organisation in promoting or improving wine or winemaking practices in WA, was awarded to John Gladstones.

Dr Gladstones is internationally recognised for his expertise on climate and viticulture and is credited as the first to have recognised the potential of Margaret River as an ideal wine-growing region.

Special guest James Halliday, who was the 2016 award recipient, made a speech and paid tribute to Dr Gladstones, the region and the Cullens.
