Favourite spot and good food

ADVERTORIAL

tender, my teeth hardly got a workout.

It really was a melt-in-your-mouth moment.

Complemented by the roasted cauliflower, a couple of mushrooms, the potatoes and the yummy jus, it all made for a delicious combination which I kept wanting more of. And there was still more to come. Warm sticky date pudding with caramel sauce and ice-cream was my dessert choice, and it was exquisite.

Deb chose the lemon meringue pie and cream, and again the presentation matched the taste.

Seriously folks, if you’re looking for somewhere to relax, have a drink, a pizza or fine dining, Stilts has got it all.

Great service, an extensive selection of wines and beers, exquisite food, coffees and cakes and all set a hop, step and jump from the beautiful pristine waters of Geographe Bay.

Thanks, Gary and staff, you should be very proud of yourselves.

The only downside was, Deb and I had to go back to work.

I needed a nanna nap and Deb fell asleep on the way back to the office. It’s a hard life when part of your work day involves going to lunch at one of your favourite places.

My colleague Deb and I were greeted by manager Gary and his very friendly staff, and immediately felt as if we were the most special people on the planet.

The house specials were explained and we were left contemplating what to order.

If I had one complaint to make, it was simply that I wanted to try everything on the menu.

We decided to enjoy some delicious garlic bread while we discussed the menu, and made up our minds.

Deb went for the herb and lemon chicken breast, zucchini cake, slow-roasted tomatoes and green olive tapenade.

I chose the MSAgrade scotch fillet steak, which came with butter fondant potatoes, roasted cauliflower, field mushrooms and jus.

Having made our choices, we sat back and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings with the open fire burning brightly, and the tranquillity of the beer garden and ocean.

Soon enough, our mains were served and the presentation was very artistic and mouth-wateringly appetising, but the best was yet to come.

Deb could not speak highly enough of her chicken dish, and my steak was so
