Hawks girls in must-win scenario
The Margaret River Hawks Youth Girls football team travel to Bunbury tomorrow to take on Bunbury Grammar in a must-win elimination final.
After going down to top-of-the-ladder Bunbury Bulldogs by a mere 11 points last weekend, the Hawks girls must regroup and defeat Grammar to qualify for this year’s grand final.
In what will be a replay of last year’s nailbiting final, the Hawks girls will be boosted by some returning players and a real sense of belief after last weekend’s efforts.
Coach Tess Oliver said the players were up to the challenge.
“We’ve started playing our best footy at the right end of the season,” she said.
“The girls are pumped and looking forward to representing the Hawks in another grand final this year.
“There is a lot of confidence in this group and we will give it everything against Grammar to book our spot.”
The game is at Bunbury’s Kelly Park on Saturday at 3pm and support to cheer the Hawks as they strive to reach another grand final is welcomed.
