Marriage a foundation

Augusta Margaret River Times - - News - Amber Pasco, Augusta

I am writing this letter to plead with the public not to take the coming postal vote to change the definition of marriage lightly, but to realise this is a very serious and destructive pathway, which is not simply to allow gay people to be married, but will cause other issues that will affect future generations and our children and grandchildren.

As a democratic society, we have the choice to do good or to do evil. God has given everyone a conscience and shown us the right way in his commandments.

It is not about love which gay people are promoting.

No one is stopping them from living together in a civil union if this is what they wish to do.

But to change the definition of marriage between a man and a woman, they cannot do.

You have the sex industry and big alcohol companies giving support to lobbyists trying to influence the public to vote “yes”.

We need a stable and strong foundation to raise our children and to teach them the values and morals, so they too can pass on a godly legacy to their children.
