Parliamentary hypocrisy

Augusta Margaret River Times - - News - Gordon Payne South Fremantle

It is a bit rich for Parliamentarians Libby Mettam and Terry Redman to be complaining continually about cuts in Government services.

They were part of a government that trashed the State economy, racking up a $40 billion debt and losing our AAA rating.

We will be paying more than $1 billion each year in interest charges on this debt — money down the drain.

An example of their unwise spending was the “repair” of the Muja AB power station.

Presumably part of their Government’s ideological fixation with coal, $300 million was spent on this project.

It was a failure and the power plant closes this month.

The State Government is now struggling to recover our finances and every project involving Government expenditure needs to have the ruler run over it.

Ms Mettam and Mr Redman would be more useful if they helped with this process.
