Lush gardens, delicious food
Stilts is nestled in lush gardens, a welcome retreat from suburban life.
The sun glimmers on the ocean just a short stroll from where we sit, leaving us feeling instantly in holiday mode and eager to indulge in a late breakfast on a lazy Saturday morning.
The beautiful surrounds and music take the joy of eating up a notch.
We were greeted warmly by Louise and offered the option of being seated inside the restaurant or in the garden.
After perusing the menu on a comfy chair by the fire, the garden and sunshine beckoned.
We moved outside to relax in the dappled shade of the well-established tropical gardens.
There are some really tempting delights on offer.
My friend and I decided to start with a small serve of pancakes and a pot of English breakfast tea.
Deliciously fluffy on the inside and golden brown on the outside, my pancakes were teamed beautifully with berry compote.
My friend chose a great combination of fresh lemon and maple syrup, which she said was delightful. Both were served with vanilla ice cream and devoured with gusto.
Stilts also offers a regular serve of pancakes, but the small serve would be perfect for children or those, like us, who want to try more than one dish.
The jaw-stretching ultimate breakfast sandwich boasts a tender, mouth-watering, minute steak, two rashers of bacon, a perfectly fried egg and barbecue sauce. This hearty sandwich was packed with flavour and didn’t disappoint.
It is also available to take away if you’re just passing through.
My friend ordered the tomato, basil and mozzarella muffin, which was seriously good. Straight from the oven and bursting with flavour, this muffin had a perfectly moist, light and fluffy centre. One bite and our conversation slowed to a crawl.
After indulging in our leisurely Saturday breakfast, we left relaxed and content and ready to embrace the weekend.
The warmer months ahead will be the perfect opportunity to enjoy a sumptuous meal with friends in the picturesque setting Stilts offers.
