Make waves with radio jingle entry

Augusta Margaret River Times - - News - Therese Colman

Augusta’s 2 Oceans FM is on the search for local talent to create the station’s new jingle.

Manager Pip Mattiske joined the team in June and has been working with a team of volunteers to “shake up” the station’s atmosphere.

“There’s a lot of fantastic talent in Margaret River and Augusta, so we would like a local musician to create something for us,” she said.

“It can be whatever you like it to be, whether you play an instrument, you’re in a garage band or at home producing music on your computer.

“Our focus is on locals and that’s who we want to collaborate with.”

The competition is open to all ages, musical genres and production styles. The radio station has been operating since 2009 and is run by volunteers through the Augusta Community Resource Centre.

“We are also always on the lookout for new people to join our team, whether it’s broadcasting or helping us with the music library,” Ms Mattiske said.

“Volunteering here would be a great opportunity for a student wanting to get experience in the broadcasting industry, as that’s how I started out myself.”

Details on the jingle-writing competition and information on volunteering is available at 2oceansfm.com.au.
