Veteran Dale too good in Stable­ford

Alan Dale did it again at Tues­day’s Vet­er­ans Stable­ford with a score of 21 points. Mike Law­son came close sec­ond with 20 points.

It was a big day in per­fect con­di­tions for the 38-hole Ladies four­somes cham­pi­onship.

Me­gan Booth won the ladies hon­our board event with Sarah Roddy.

Kerry Far­relly and Sue Bloxam were sec­ond-best with 178 on count­back.

Best net score went to Wendy Chidgey and Leonie Bell (147) on a count­back from Rosie Bas­ford and Rosie Bur­nett.

Jo Py­att won the nine-hole Sta- ble­ford with 18 points. The sec­ond round of the Four Cheeky Ami­gos drew a field of 93.

Gra­ham Smith came out of top with a great score of 43, fol­lowed by Ge­off Bar­rett (40) and Dave Noske (38).

Val Melerie did well on Fri­day to fin­ish top fe­male player, while Fred Mur­ton (15) was top male.

The first round of the men’s cham­pi­onships be­gan on Satur­day. Jim House (71) scored best.

The gross went to Jules Ash­ton (79) while Roy War­ren (69) won the Sun­day. Best gross was Marc Hal­sall (80).

The pres­ti­gious Paddy Bar­rett Tro­phy went to Dave Glas­son with a to­tal score of 138. Ray Mann just missed out with 142 and Terry Hal­sall (147) was third.

In Sun­day’s mixed Stable­ford, Al­li­son Kelly beat Wendy Chidgey on a count­back from 38 points. Rhonda Hearn scored 34 points for third place, get­ting the bet­ter of He­len Priest.
