Big return to school for kids
Memories were made when students walked through the gates of Rapids Landing Primary School for the first time on Wednesday morning.
Kindergarteners brought teddy bears they were given a few weeks ago, and Year 1 students eagerly ran to meet their new friends.
Many parents who put their children on the school bus also drove to the school to meet them at the gate.
The school’s teaching blocks are named after well-known beaches in Margaret River, including Hamelin Bay, Three Bears, Contos Springs, Gnarabup and Redgate.
The school factions are Lake, Mammoth and Jewel, named after the region’s natural caves.
Many tears were shed on the first day but they were mainly from the parents’ eyes.
