Fine for pharmacy theft
A 21-year-old man has been fined for stealing make-up bags from Pharmacy 777.
Joshua Paul Alexandrou pleaded guilty to one charge of stealing at the Margaret River Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
At 1pm on December 31, Alexandrou entered the pharmacy and put three cosmetic bags inside a bigger bag and left the store without paying.
Staff reviewed CCTV footage and reported the incident to police.
The hairdressing apprentice said he had no excuse for committing the offence.
“I don’t really know why I did it,” he told Magistrate Brian Mahon this week. “I’m really embarrassed.” He was fined $400, and charged $124.74 in restitution and $190.85 in court costs.
