The Cowaramup Bowling Club held its annual Men’s Fours Carnival last weekend.

Saturday and Sunday’s event had 14 teams participating.

Players from the Leeuwin League were joined by teams from Capel, Collie and Busselton.

Cowaramup Club president Graham Hutton said the support of 36 local sponsors was a great help. “Everyone enjoyed the day,” he said. “It had a real carnival atmosphere.”

Saturday’s winning club was Capel, with a Cowaramup team of relatively new bowlers skippered by Rod Carter, finishing second. Sunday’s winners were Cowaramup, a team of veterans with Peter Clews deciding to rotate the position of skipper in all their games.

Smiler Gale’s very competitive Margaret River team came second.

Club captain Keith Simmonds ran a well-organised competition and thanked all the participants and presented the prizes.
