CWA gives dolls a ‘make-under’
The Margaret River Country Women’s Association will host a doll “make-under” workshop early next month.
The faces of Barbie and Bratz dolls will be wiped off and new, more realistic faces drawn on.
Treasurer Skye Snelling said she was going to give her daughter’s dolls a “make-under” but thought it would be good to get the community involved in the process.
“As a women’s organisation, the movement behind the workshop is to promote more realistic-looking dolls for children to play with — both boys and girls,” she said.
“The CWA is committed to resourcefulness, so recycling old dolls is in line with our values.
“It also makes for a fun work- shop and get-together, and of course men and boys are welcome to come along too.”
The workshop date is yet to be confirmed but is proposed for next week, and members and non-members of any age are encouraged to attend.
