Cash better spent on dual carriageway

Augusta Margaret River Times - - Letters - David Barnsley, Busselton

I am not usually one for agreeing with the Labor member but I think he is absolutely correct about the airport (Airport plan a pup: Papalia, 7/9).

It is a pup of the highest order and a complete waste of public money.

They have only done it as a future cash cow. And this is why it is so expensive to fly within this State (landing fees).

The money would have been better spent on improving the dual carriageway — you know, that thing that nearly all people use to visit this region — and maybe extending it down to Dunsborough and then to Margaret river. The main problem is it costs far more to fly from here to Perth than to drive, leave your car in storage for a week or more, and then drive home.

Flying would cost twice as much.

And you still have to drive 45 minutes to get to Margaret River.
