Sympathy to traditional providers being outpaced by rapidly evolving new industries such as Airbnb and Uber.
The legislative requirements governing these new industries have not kept pace with the compliance required of traditional operators. All sweet to rent out your spare room, but the legal minefield of this would only be tested in the event of a tragedy.
One thing is certain — when some smart person comes up with an Airbank or Uber Insurance company, the Government will be straight out of the hole to legislate them out of business to protect the big end of town.
