Frame 2018 focus on the digital future
Next year’s Frame Australia conference ‘Timber Offsite Construction’ will focus on currently expanding local and global markets for timber buildings, and the digital future ahead in design, manufacture and construction of timber frame multi-residential and mass timber commercial buildings.
Current initiatives with cloud based digital platforms by both the construction and manufacturing industries, combined with new data technologies have the power to change the future of the built environment by creating smarter and more efficient processes for construction of sustainable and cost-efficient timber buildings.
Conference director Kevin Ezard said speaker sessions would incorporate key themes of Design, Technology, Manufacturing and Construction, to provide delegates with insight into the latest developments in timber prefabrication and building systems, and collaboration emerging in digital data distribution throughout the complete supply chain.
“With this focus on Technology the program will include demonstrations of digital concepts in practice, including Virtual Reality on-site data communication in construction, and ‘reallife’ management of manufacturing equipment operation,” Kevin said.
“The delegate tours will visit a range of timber frame and mass timber construction sites, panelised prefabrication plants, and recentlycompleted buildings that are outstanding examples of timber construction.
“This unique event is at the leading edge of knowledge and performs a pivotal role in information sharing, with attendees including architects, engineers, property developers and builders; along with suppliers of timber and engineered wood, digital software, manufacturing equipment, pre-fabricated building systems, building materials, and timber products,” he said.
‘Timber Offsite Construction’ will be held on Monday and Tuesday 18-19 June 2018 at
Park Hyatt Melbourne, and for details on the conference and exhibition visit the website www. frameaustralia.com
