Focus on efficiency, durability and ease of maintenance
THE HISTORY of Ponsse harvester heads dates all the way back to the 1980s. At that time single-grip harvesters were extremely rare, but a clear vision was that more effective ways needed to be created for logging.
Today, harvester heads are widely used on both wheeled and tracked base machines around the world. Ponsse’s extensive product range offers harvester head applications from first thinning to heavyduty regeneration felling, as well as models from debarking eucalyptus heads to processing from a pile.
Strong head and tilt frames give excellent reliability in hard working conditions, and the Ponsse Opti control system offers modern adjustability and accuracy in an easy-to-use format. Thanks to easy adjustments, Ponsse harvester heads are suitable for various uses from thinning to final felling. Their high feed power and fast economical sawing result in extreme efficiency. As each harvester head can be adjusted according to tree and base machine properties, working is easy and the harvester head has a long service life.
Moreover, Ponsse’s Opti optimizing control system guarantees measurement accuracy in cutting.
The PONSSE H10 is designed and built for heavy-duty processing work in hard conditions. A robust structure, strong grip and powerful feeding guarantee high efficiency and reliability. The Ponsse H10 is specially designed to work effectively as both harvesting head and processing head. Wide geometry of feed rollers support even big trees from underneath which enables using lower knife pressures resulting in lower friction, higher feeding speed and lower fuel consumption. The H10 is designed for trackbased machines over 25-tonnes.
The PONSSE H8 HD is a completely new harvester head that was launched at Demo 2016 in Canada in the end of September. The new Ponsse H8 HD harvester head is specifically designed for harvesting and processing big timber in demanding conditions. It can be installed on the Ponsse Bear harvester and on over 24-tonne track-based machines. The new harvester head model offers a superior performance considering its size. A powerful feed, combined with its geometry which firmly supports even the larger trees with feed rollers, guarantees extreme productivity and fuel economy.
Each Ponsse harvester head model has been designed with focus on efficiency, durability and ease of maintenance. Each model is characterized by its simple and strong structure. Ponsse harvester heads are built for rough conditions.
